The Australian Property Professionals Group incorporating Gold Coast Valuers was established with a view to providing a professional and personalised valuation and property development consultancy service to the Southeast Queensland market.
The company’s vision is to be seen by our clients as the specialist provider of choice for this form of property consultancy on the Gold Coast.
Our valuers are experienced Certified Practicing Valuers (CPV) and Associates of the Australian Property Institute (AAPI). They are experts in the real estate t shey choose to specialise in. Associate membership of the Australian Property Institute ensures adherence to professionals standards of practice and ethics, up-to-date risk management practice, and continued professional development.

Meet the Principal - AJ Smit
Certified Practising Valuer
Principal AJ Smit studied Computer Science and Mathematics in South Africa in the 1980’s, leading to a career in corporate IT that took him to The Netherlands in 1998; before settling in Sydney, Australia in January 2000. He then moved to the Gold Coast in 2003, turning his passion for property into a new career by training as a valuer.
He commenced working as a valuer with Herriots (Gold Coast) in 2004, before qualifying as a Certified Practising Valuer (AAPI, CPV) in 2006. AJ later spent 3 years working as Acquisitions & Development Manager for Heran Building Group on the Gold Coast, gaining valuable experience of the property development industry. He has also worked for National Australia Bank as a Senior Valuer covering the northern New South Wales and southern Gold Coast region.

AJ has broad experience in the valuation of commercial, industrial, residential and rural residential properties throughout the Gold Coast and surrounds, and Tweed Coast and northern New South Wales areas. He has prepared valuations for a broad range of scenarios including mortgage security, family law, stamp duty and insurance purposes.
